Redlands Christian School
Arrowhead Christian Academy Upper School
Academic Support Program
Our International Student Program is committed to provide extra academic support in order to help our students be successful in their academic courses.

ESL Program
The English as a Second Language (ESL) Program at Arrowhead Christian Academy Upper School is divided into three levels-ESL 1, ESL 2 and Adv. ESL (UC College Approved) and has three main purposes: to develop students' language abilities; to inspire students to love learning in all academic areas; and to prepare students for future success in a University and beyond. Each new International Student who enrolls in the Upper School is given extensive testing to determine his or her English skill level, and is then placed in the appropriate ESL level.
One-On-One Tutoring
All students need help at one time or another. For students who would like additional support for their core classes, one-on-one tutoring is available after school. Our tutors work with the students, teaching them to be prepared for their quizzes, tests, projects and daily homework. They help the students organize their tasks so they are better prepared for each day.
This is optional for students of all English proficiency levels, including students not enrolled in an ESL course (but strongly encouraged for students at lower-intermediate to intermediate levels). Flexible scheduling to accommodate student activities/sports.
Tutoring fees are at an additional cost per semester.

International Center
Our school has an International Center designed for International Students to come and study each day after school. Students work on assignments while waiting for their host family to arrive and/or work on assignments before their extra-curricular activity begins.
Students are able to meet regularly with our International Student Program Director to review their academic progress, to examine they are still on track for graduation as well as college awareness and preparation.
